TURN Festival is an outgrowth of the Paramount's farm and agro-ecology program. Held on the grounds of the school farm, the day is packed with workshops, hands-on demonstrations, exhibits, children’s activities, live music and food.
Paramount Brookside is fortunate to have a 5.5-acre site that has developed into a working farm complete with six goats, 21 chickens, and a four-hive apiary. The farm is an integral part of the school’s STEM curriculum and offers Paramount students a multitude of unique learning opportunities. It serves as an outdoor learning classroom for students throughout the school year and for Paramount’s summer STEAM (Success Through Education Agriculture and Mentoring) program.
The fifth annual TURN Festival promises to be a full fall day focused on urban farming, food, health and the environment. TURN Festival attendees will find sessions on urban farming, bee keeping, family gardening, food preservation, healthy cooking, yoga, and cycling. Frequently check out the Exhibitor and Activities tabs as vendors and workshops continue to be added.
