Volunteer Opportunities
Captains - Volunteer Captains will be the leaders of their volunteer crews. As a Captain, you must be able to attend a short walk-through session the week of September 22, to be trained before the event (Specific training times will be coordinated with you once you have signed up).
Set-Up/Tear Down - Volunteers are needed to help with event set-up in the morning and general event clean-up at the end of the day. Please note: Both of these shifts will require some lifting and carrying.
Exhibitors Assistants - As exhibitors arrive in the morning, volunteers will help them sign in, unload materials from their vehicles, and find their booth. Please note: This shift will require some lifting and carrying.
Greeters - These volunteers will be at the entry points and Information booth(s) within the event to help greet visitors and share information about event activities.
Area Assistants - We are in need of a few volunteers to assist with the different areas of the festival to make sure everything is running smoothly. Areas include music, food, and program presenters.
Parking Assistants - A few volunteers are needed to help direct visitors to designated parking locations. We are looking for friendly, outgoing volunteers for this position, who don't mind being on their feet for a while!
“Runners” - A number of volunteers are needed throughout the day to assist vendors, restock supplies and help as needs arise.
Dinner Set-Up and Tear Down (September 27) - This group of volunteers is needed the evening before the festival on September 28 for the special preview dinner. Volunteers will help set up tent tables, and prepare the grounds. Tear down volunteers also help prepare the exhibit tent for Saturday's event.
Street Team - Volunteers get the word out about the Festival by putting up flyers in their neighborhood to help us get the word out about the festival. Flyers should be distributed between August 1st and September 14th - this is a flexible shift at your convenience.
Photographers / videographers - Documentation volunteers capture the magic of the dinner and Saturday Festival events.
Things to know
• There will be a Volunteer Tent at the festival that will serve as the central hub for volunteer check in, check out and refreshments.
• A short volunteer orientation will be offered prior to the event. The orientation will be scheduled a few times for volunteers’ convenience. Captains are required to attend, all other volunteers are encouraged.
• This event is intended to be all outdoors and volunteers will need to be able to tolerate the weather (rain or shine), stand for long periods and interact with MANY visitors. Be prepared to dress for the weather i.e. wear a hat, bring a water bottle and if needed, a raincoat.
• We rely on all of our volunteers and could not put on this event without you! Please let us know immediately if for some reason you are no longer able to volunteer.
Thank you very much!
